Q: I have received a hearing notice, will I need TCU representation? I'm not sure of what my next step is?

A: Contact your local TCU Officer or Shop Steward immediately to discuss your options and how you should proceed.

Grievance:


​***Grievances must be filed within 20 calendar days of the violation that is being claimed***


1.  Gather all facts necessary to determine if you have a valid grievance. If you are not sure, contact your local TCU officer or Shop Steward for clarification.

2. Once you've determined that your grievance is valid, refer to  your MTA/TCU Contract Agreement to select the correct Article of the contract or work rule you believe was violated. 

3. Complete your  grievance form ensuring it has been signed by your manager and you should always obtain a copy after it has been signed for your records.

Union Dues:


Q: What do I do about my Union Dues while out on leave?

A: Union dues are reduced to $5/month when an employee is out on Leave. With proper notification to the Local FST before your leave begins. 
If an employee is receiving a check from Metro, via Workers comp, Vacation or Sick time, employees full Union dues will continue to be deducted.
